This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 A new story in the world of John Flanagan。 We go back to hal and his crew and have another adventure with them。 This time Erak’s ship gets stolen and they need to find it back。 I think the book is less good than the one’s before。 The story is on the short hand and a lot of the humor isn’t there。 I did like the story because i love to go back to this world but i do hope we’re gonna get some new stories in this world or complete new stories of mr。 Flanagan。 The book was still enjoyable！

Erak kreunde。 'Nu weet ik pas hoe mensen zich voelden als ze mij aan zagen komen。'Het is weeral ruim twee jaar geleden dat er nog een nieuwe Broederband is verschenen。 Eerlijk is eerlijk: van Boek 8 herinner ik me eigenlijk niks， maar ik was er blijkbaar。。。 niet helemaal door overtuigd。Dit boek is beter， aan mijn recensie te zien。Het is relatief kort， met minder dan 300 bladzijdes， en ik vreesde eigenlijk dat het een beetje zou verdergaan in dezelfde trant van de laatste nieuwe verhalen van Erak kreunde。 'Nu weet ik pas hoe mensen zich voelden als ze mij aan zagen komen。'Het is weeral ruim twee jaar geleden dat er nog een nieuwe Broederband is verschenen。 Eerlijk is eerlijk: van Boek 8 herinner ik me eigenlijk niks， maar ik was er blijkbaar。。。 niet helemaal door overtuigd。Dit boek is beter， aan mijn recensie te zien。Het is relatief kort， met minder dan 300 bladzijdes， en ik vreesde eigenlijk dat het een beetje zou verdergaan in dezelfde trant van de laatste nieuwe verhalen van Flanagan， waar de verhalen letterlijk én helaas ook figuurlijk magerder worden。 Ze voelen vlakker aan， werken niet helemaal goed meer， er zit minder actie in en te veel humor （in verhouding met de rest）。 Ik had me al half voorbereid， daar komt het dus op neer。Maar dit heeft me toch wat verrast。 Het verhaal is wat serieuzer， er wordt minder in gelachen （al moeten Ulf en Wulf een paar keer de ambetanterik uithangen， natuurlijk）。 En het schiet al bijna van in het begin goed in gang， al na een paar hoofdstukken begint alles sneller te gaan。 Daarna wordt het soms weer wat rustiger， maar je blijft steeds midden in een achtervolging zitten en dat merk je ook wel， want het duurt nog lang voor er weer meer vaart komt。 En zeker op het einde zitten er een paar （vecht）scènes in die bij de betere horen als ik kijk naar Flanagan's output van de laatste jaren。Mijn ogen rolden wél bijna uit hun kassen toen in het begin werd bekendgemaakt dat Lydia en Ingvar zich met elkaar gingen verloven？ Eh， excuseer？ Dafuq？ Die had ik totaal niet zien aankomen， en eerlijk is eerlijk， ik vind ze totaal niet bij elkaar passen。 Geen idee waarom， maar。。。 nee。Aan de andere kant was het geweldig om Erak eindelijk nog eens wat meer in de schijnwerpers te zien staan。 Ja， tuurlijk， hij heeft altijd wel een klein bijrolletje in de Skandische verhalen， maar nu is hij helemaal aanwezig。 Daar zat ik al heel lang op te hopen。Alleen jammer dat de auteur zo nu en dan personages een beetje uit het oog lijkt te verliezen。 Want bij momenten duurde het wel heel lang voor met name Erak of Lydia ergens op de proppen kwamen， terwijl iedereen zich gewoon aan boord van het schip bevindt。 Nu snap ik ook wel dat niet iedereen een bijdrage aan elke scène kan geven， maar af en toe duurde het zo lang dat ik wilde dat er gewoon even melding werd gemaakt van waar ze zich ergens bevonden of iets dergelijks。Maar ik vond wel dat het verhaal op zich。。。 logisch is。 Dat klinkt misschien gek， maar al bij al zijn de meeste verhaallijnen， ook in historische fictie， meestal toch nogal bij hun haar getrokken。 Maar de Iberiërs - en de Skandiërs - redeneerden hier naar mijn mening op een heel logische manier。 Ik kan me voorstellen dat iemand dit soort plannen echt wel zou kunnen bedenken。 En geloofwaardigheid is uiteindelijk een van de allerbelangrijkste elementen in een boek， dus petje af hiervoor。De vertaling is weer van Wybrand Scheffer， en die is zoals gewoonlijk ook weer heel goed in orde。 Ergens miste er een aanhalingsteken， redelijk in het begin van het boek， en ik vroeg me ook af of er niet op een bepaald moment een verkeerde naam stond （ook tamelijk vooraan） maar het Nederlands op zich leest zoals alle andere boeken in de reeks。 De stijl wordt goed gehandhaafd， het is duidelijke en aangename taal。7，8/10 。。。more

I feel like this could have been great but it was ok。 It felt like a really long fan fiction story with no character development and more time spent describing sailing the ship than on any character。 It was disappointing and I feel like this was written to “ answer the mail “ or check a box than with any true connection to the characters。

Chociaż bardzo lubie styl pisania Johna Flanagana， serie Zwiadowcy i Drużyna po prostu UWIELBIAM， to na tej części niestety się zawiodłam i nie spodobała mi się :（。 Było tu mało akcji i ciągle czekałam na cos więcej， niestety się nie doczekałam。 Naprawde żałuje że wydarzenia potoczyły się w taki sposób bo uważam że pomysł na fabułe był naprawde dobry ale w trakcie coś się zepsuło。

Kurcze brakowało mi tam akcji， cała książka była taka trochę nijaka。。。。wszystko nadrabiali tak naprawdę bohaterzy swoim zachowaniem i wpleciony wątek romantyczny którego było za mało jak dla mnie （hihi）。 Mega plusem było wplecenie w główną rolę ponownie Eraka bo jak najbardziej ta postać zasługuje na uwagę <33

Quick and quite enjoyable to read 💃Also， I loved the ending scene it was the best :DI honestly need more interactions and development between our beloved characters because this book was mainly focused on action itself。 Still a good book tho ❤️
